Maike Gräf, sculpture
Maike Gräf’s bizarre creations thematize the human being – the human body, to be precise.
Shaped from whole tree trunks, her sculptures form expressive bodies articulated by rhythmic forms and concave surfaces, while their boldly-colored surfaces reveal the wood’s original grain and the hand-wrought traces of the sculptural process.
