Silverware
Maike Dahl’s work strikes a balance between traditional metalcraft and contemporary design with remarkable ease, achieving a sophisticated purism in the process. The artist playfully imagines the return of silver to the kitchen table, yet her creations trigger associations far removed from traditional silver designs.

Her exquisite silver pieces—bowls, cans, pots, spoons, forks, and cups—quote a wide array of everyday objects and recall refined packaging, origami folds, take-out containers, and simple fast-food flatware.

Relying on her technical and artistic virtuosity, Dahl produces works of extraordinary design and structure replete with subtle references to cultural history and centuries-old craftsmanship.
