The topic of Peter Nettesheim’s figures is mobility. They are reminiscences of people that we meet every day.

The wood is only roughly worked. The graining and are deliberately used in order to emphasise the organic aspect of the human physiognomy. The colour on the figures only has a structural role and is devoid of any artistic expression. His figures capture a moment of animated peace.

Peter Nettesheim about his work: “The starting point of my wooden figures is a found piece of material, usually directly accessible and in view of the nature of the manufacturing process. Without a pedestal and life-sized, their characters as objects is combined in the appearance of the works with their function in terms of content to portray experienced or conceived reality”.
